Was it really necessary...

...to create the screename 'chrissy sorryass simms'?

That's a tad bit embarrassing to open up the site and see that on the front page.

Please think about who might be reading this site. I'm sure it's comforting to current student athletes to know that they will soon be immortalized on sites with 'sorryass' as their middle name.

Mr. "sorryass" Peabody did not do it.

I will say it gives me a chuckle or two when I look at it. :lol:

First of all.....I didn't do it...

but since when are we responsible for any "student athletes", their feelings, insecurities, etc.... ???

If you say we have a responsibility not to hurt anyone's feelings.... then I've completely missed something and am totally confused.

It's not a "responsibility". It's common sense, common decency and general respect for others.

But I guess some like playing Mr. T on the Internet.

What confuses me is you would expect people to show someone they don't know more respect than is shown to each other on this board a lot of the time.

When we get emails from the parents of participants on this board I'll worry about that.

You are soft. What the hell, general respect for others? What bullshit is that? I think you should have more repect for the girls pictures you post under the RHDC...that is very degrading to woman. Dont bring up some bullshit common sense crap until I see a waiver signed by each of those girls. And what email's are we getting aside from maybe that post about a girl athlete not to be named, which Drew has crush on? Please tell me we got an email from Mama Selvin complaining that we are doggin' on her son for his 20 fumbles and 40 touches earlier in the season.

It probably has something to do with the fact that Mr. Peabody is an internet moniker, while Chris Simms happens to be a real person's name.

Fine.

Let's have "Holocaust Didn't Happen Hal" and "9/11 Was a Government Project Nate".

While we're at it, let's get Aids-Ridden Aaron and Terri Schiavo's A Dumb Retard.

Or is it just when it offends you that it's not okay?

We were talking about a football player (using the phrase loosely)......

You've made quite a leap there.

Whatever.

Your dead horse thread was allowed to stay open (and still is) with this kind of childish name-calling nonsense going on. There is lot more latitude given to an individual post than a screen name.

I guess we're supposed to have screen names like Major "bitchass" Applewhite and Anthony "cunt-licker" Holmes?

1. This has gone from the sublime to the ridiculous, meaning it has actually acquired some comedy along the way;
2. Just because someone tries to register a name doesn't mean that its connotation should be ignored and then approved;
3. Wait, I'm sorry, is this debate really: offensive due to making fun of former Longhorn players = ok VS. patently offensive = not ok???

Last time I checked, offensive = not ok. Period. Call. It. Whatever. Color. You. Want. .....Smooth
