If you ever wanted a Seersucker Suit read here

Postby txlonghorn47 on Thu Jun 15, 2006 11:30 am

Was at the Brooks Brothers outlet yesterday doing a little shopping.

Any way I know we have had alot of Seersucker disscusions lately, so I thought I would tell y'all that the suits are on sale for about $200 at the Brooks Outlet right now.

Dallas area has two outlets Allen, and Grapevine Mills.

Austin area just has San Marcos.

Yesterday was Seersucker Day on Capitol Hill. I have to say that they all look very dapper, especially with the white bucks.

On a side note, I am having to retire my white bucks. They needed to be repaired and the shoe repair guy said they were simply "beyond repair". They were my late father's shoes and had been worn with seersucker suits since the 1960s. :(

Time to start a new generation of white bucks I guess. Life goes on...

We went to the BB outlet today. I got a polo for $20 sum odd dollars.

I tried on some very cute seer sucker pants, but they seem to be made for older ladies, much too high waisted so I couldn't find a right size that didn't have the pockets kind of poofing out.

The RR Outlet has a Brooks Brothers? Outstanding! :)

I hope they have a good tailor there in the store. That's what makes a good Brooks Brothers. Anyhow, I found out my pops' shoes were actually bought in 1941 when he lived in New Orleans right before WWII. Pretty amazing that they lasted so long.

I'll be making my way up there this weekend. Thanks for the heads up.

Yeah they have one in RR now.

When this original post was made they were still building the outlets in RR.

We quickly stopped by the Round Rock stores this weekend because I needed some new work kicks. The J Crew store is greatness, and had the seer sucker suits available. I was not able to justify the purchase, but I feel that I put a nice chink in the opposed argument's armor.

To dry my tears, I purchased another seer sucker item - kinda. J Crew now has seer sucker flip flops. Very comfy. I also grabbed a new white polo because they were on majory sale.

After J Crew, we hit Cole Haan and Johnston Murphy for my shoes, and my pants were moving all over the place. I could have spent a fortune. I settled for a nice pair of J&M loafers that are a little more formal than my deck shoes.

If we didn't have to get back in time for Stacey's class that night, I think I would have had to open up the 401K.

The seersucker suit was on full display this past weekend at a friend's wedding at Presidio National Park in San Francisco. Gorgeous clear day in the city, reception overlooking the bay, and the new Brooks Brothers white bucks gleaming in the Pacific sunshine.

Fashion greatness my friends. Fashion greatness.....

LOL... Nice!

Went with the khaki suit on Easter Sunday since it was overcast. Going to a party in a couple weeks and the seersucker will be out and about.
