Cowboy Boots

Postby Mr. Peabody on Sat Dec 20, 2008 12:11 am

I've been thinking about getting some new cowboy boots for Christmas.

Currently, I have a pair of handmade Mercedes brand full quill Ostirich boots that my dad gave me back in 1980. They are still in great shape btw.

A few years ago (7 or 8 maybe), I was in the mood to get some new cowboy boots. At that time, round toe cowboy boots were the thing. I didn't really care for the round toe cowboy boots. They remind me of work boots.
They look like like you are wearing work boots when you look down at them with your pant leg covering the top of them. I did not make a purchase. I like cowboy cut pointed cowboy boots. I'm not a big fan of the severe pointed roach killer or corner kicker cowboy pointed mind you.

This season, I have noticed that square toe cowboy boots are the new thing. You see round toe cowboy boots and square toe cowboy boots. Finding a classic cowboy cut cowboy boot is not easy these days at most places.

I hate the square toe cowboy boots. I might as well buy a pair of square toe dress shoes. You can't tell the difference when your pant leg covers the top of the boot.

Now, I'm thinking about buying a big gun safe instead. I can store my guns, camera equipment, valuables, and cash that I want on hand at the house.

As far as boots you can't go wrong with a pair of Justin ropers.

If your looking for a gun safe let me know. There is one that advertises all the time with us.

If you want to go square toe without it looking like a dress shoe, you can go with the small square. They come to a point like regular boots.

Chay has a nice pair. <mark>

And as far as not being able to tell boots from shoes, you obviously don't have a trained eye.

Keep in mind the high heel of traditional cowboy boots. It'll surprise you if you aren't used to it.
why don't you run back to the sandbox where the rest of the kids are playing so the adults can have a discussion...it's over there....you see Howie, he's over there with PMS knocking over other kids sandcastles...looks like fun.

Recently go a pair of snip toed Lucchese's and I love them. They are wing tipped lizard.

I have a pair of Justin Punchy square toe ostrich that Plunk mentioned. The square is only about 2-3 inches, so they don't look like square toed dress shoes. Here is a link to a pic of them http://www.justinboots.com/boots/Punchy ... fccf8=8962

If you are wanting a more classic cowboy boot toe check out some Lucchese mad dogs. http://www.cavenders.com/product.asp?ca ... d=LN7697R4

Update.

I never got the cowboy boots. I'm still looking for some Red boots.

I did get a really big gun safe. Now I want another one.

For the record square toe boots are now the cargo shorts of boots.

FIFY

Really any square toe shoe falls into that.

Is snipped toe different from square toe? Asking for a friend.

Yeah snip toe almost comes to a point. Square is like a solid 3 or more inches wide.

Almost all girl boots are snip toes too, so you're good Robs.
