Thinking about changin it up...

Postby WFLIP on Sun Jul 15, 2007 9:35 pm

The hair doo that is. Late 20's, getting a divorce, figure I'll change up some shiyet. I'm thinking about doing some highlights in the hair or just going blonde or something.

Any guys do this before? I've got brown hair as is, just been spiking it up a little bbit. Going for that messy on purpose look.

Where do you get your hair done now and where are you planning on going?

A good salon is key to not totally screwing up your hair.

I would recommend JR Salon on Burnet or Avant (downtown or Gateway.) They have good stylists, good products (Aveda) and will be able to recommend something that works with your hair type.

I've been getting my hair bleached every other haircut.

My haircut girl mixes in some kind of bleach with the shampoo when she shampoos my hair.

I like it. The wife doesn't. I don't care.

Right now, I just go to Supercuts or somewhere cheap like that, but I guess going somewhere a bit nicer would probably be a better idea if I'm gonna do something this drastic.

Serious question here.

If you are about to dye your hair are you also considering changing it and dating dudes too?

I would go to a nice salon (Aveda ones are top notch), and just ask the stylist what they recommend. Tell her you are trying to change it up and what she suggests for your volume of hair, shape of your face, etc.

You seriously won't believe the difference between Supercuts and a good professional stylist.

Sincerely,

Shave your head. It is the best thing I have ever done. Of course my hairline was receeding like the French troops at a play ground fight but I really do like it now!
