A disturbing trend among younger ladies...

Postby Blondie on Fri Jul 13, 2007 9:35 am

I have to admit it, I do not get the whole shorts with athletic knee socks look that has been increasing in popularity.

Does anyone out there get it? I mean, most legs are not enhanced by skin-tight white elastic that cuts the circulation off right below the knee...

I mean no offense; I seriously do not get the look.

why don't you run back to the sandbox where the rest of the kids are playing so the adults can have a discussion...it's over there....you see Howie, he's over there with PMS knocking over other kids sandcastles...looks like fun.

Can't say that I've seen that look yet.

That is hot at a strip club or somesuch, but do you really expect to go out to a bar and see somebody dressed like that.

I don't know, I've seen girls where the knee high white stockings as in the pic above before.

It definitely made me want to have dinner at the Y.*

What about the athletic socks?

And the problem with trends is that some people are such slaves to them that they do not take into consideration the fact that some things are not universally flattering.

High heels? Universally flattering.
Boot cut jeans? Universally flattering.
Jersey fabric (not the football jersey kind)? Universally flattering.

Knee socks, bermuda shorts, formal shorts, leggings, corset dresses, "maxi" dresses, babydoll dresses, wearing a dress over jeans, and the like... NOT universally flattering.

100% agreed!

Instead of posting that picture, I was about to just say, "It all depends on who is wearing them."

They can look really sexy or REALLY disgusting.

Unfortunately, I get the feeling that this is more what Blondie was referring to (and the style, of course Eric, not the person :-) ).....Smooth

I just hate that look!!! I don't care if you're just going to the gym or running errands. Look what those socks do to her legs!!!

And I just now realized how very OLD the title of this post makes me sound...

OK, yeah, maybe it is a bit dorky.

Even if she is hot.

Why on earth does it matter what someone wears to the gym?
