top 10 90s songs

Postby beam,coke,&horns on Wed Oct 29, 2014 9:29 am

thanks to Drew's FB post, I've been listening to the 90's. Lets do a list of songs you used to like, and songs you still do.

Back Then that I still love:
- By the time I get to Arizona- Public Enemy
- Ghetto bastard- Naughty by nature
- G thang
- Real Muthaphkin G's
- Alive- PJ

Back then that I never listen to now:
Breakfast at Tiffany's
- What's the Frequency, Kenneth
- a bunch of dixie chicks
- Let me clear myy throat - only cuz it was the buffalo club anthem
-Ice Ice Baby

I have been stuck on my 90's playlist since that post too. Not sure if I can limit myself to 10. Might be a Top 25.

I spent an hour updating my "Drew kicks the 90s Ass" playlist in Spotify last night, I think I'm up to 250 songs.

Would have to think about a list, but I know it would contain the following...

Everlong, Foo Fighters
Rearviewmirror, PJ
Gin & Juice, Snoop
Fake Plastic Trees, Radiohead
Barrier Reef, Old 97s
Feelin' Good Again, REK

I also noticed that I don't even have any Old 97s or Texas Country on my playlist. Probably a lot of radio-friendly pop/hip-hop/R&B that I still haven't added.

I never really got into the REK/Jerry Jeff Walker/etc stuff.

If I make a Top 25, there's no way Semi Charmed Life isn't on it.

Also, would this be a list of Favorite 90s Songs or 90s Songs That Are Quintessentially 90s? Those are probably 2 different lists.

And I'll pretend I didn't immediately go get on Drews playlist after this thread.

Any list without Boyz II Men can kiss my ass.

I was already way too dialed into the rock/metal side of things by then courtesy of my older brother to have any Boyz II Men related nostalgia. Was NWA/Public Enemy late 80s or early 90s?

I think my initial purpose in this was to do the latter, but over two years it has morphed into the former.

This album has aged very well and this is the best song on it.

I could easily dump 3 or 4 songs off this album in a top 25 of the 90s list.

Have not listened to that full album in years. They were such a good band.

I think I mentioned this at trivia, but as much as like Lithium as an option on Sirius, it plays some real stinkers... I've heard garbage like Live, Gin Blossoms and Third Eye Blind mixed in with the good stuff. And the only Alice in Chains song I have heard is the one I hate - that godawful Rooster. I HATE that song.

You shut your filthy whoreish mouth. Nothing wrong w/ Gin Blossoms or Third Eye Blind.
