I like this list a lot. I'm not sure about Memento, I haven't seen it in a long time and I really liked it at the time, but haven't been compelled to watch it since. I also haven't seen Inglourious Basterds yet so I can't speak on that. My list will probably include Waltz With Bashir which is the movie that has affected me most since City of God.

Am I the only one on here that didn't like The Departed? I remember checking my watch about 20 minutes in and realizing that i had over 2 more hours to sit through.

I think it might be among the best Thriller-Genre Pics of the decade, but I didn't see an "Oscar" film there...

The reason it is so highly acclaimed is because the Academy Awards used it as the vehicle to give Scorsese a sort-of Lifetime Achievement award since he didn't win for Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, Last Temptation, Goodfellas, Gangs of New York, or Aviator

Also, City of God should have made my honorable mention list....not sure how I overlooked that

Put a gun to my head right now and I say "Adaptation" is the greatest movie ever made.

This comes up because of the BBC list where it didn't make the top 100.

I'm about to watch Mulholland Drive for the first time so we'll see.

Yeah so I think it's interesting that we're on the same page with Benjamin Button and Juno...

But Almost Famous and the Wes Anderson movies much closer to the worst list for me. Just don't connect at all, totally don't get it....but you knew that. Would like it explained to me sometime. But that can be hard to do in my experience, like how most people think Adaptation is terrible and makes no sense.

I just read the thread again and noticed "School of Rock" on Drew's worst list. I recently saw that accidentally and thought it was fun. In the vein of a poor man's Legally Blonde. Maybe like a 6-7 /10

ALSO...think how crappy a 2010's list is going to be by comparison.

I don't think it's "bad", just not great. I can't really explain it. The reason would be analogous to why I rarely like British films.

It's something intangible about visual style and also the way characters are developed. Loses my interest. It's the same unintelligible reason I didn't like "Boyhood"

EDIT:. I see I did reference it as "bad". That probably wasn't fair. Pay me no mind.

if you can deal with it watch the directors cut of Almost Famous... Its about 30m longer but it fills in a lot of holes where things just happen during cuts in the theatrical... One of the very few movies where the directors cut is superior to the theater

My crack at a Best of the 2010s so far:

The Grand Budapest Hotel - Wes Anderson back in top form.
Seven Psychopaths - I think you would really like this one, Mak. A poor man's Adaptation.
Inside Llewyn Davis - Like a ton of other Coen Brothers movies, I didn't really like it the first time I saw it and it's grown on me.

----Huge dropoff in quality--------

Sicario
Nightcrawler
