Top 10...Foo Fighters' songs?

Postby U2-Horn on Wed Mar 19, 2008 4:50 pm

I currently own no Foo Fighters music, and would like 10 songs or so that you recommend I download.

Give me the best of their hits (and any you feel should be).

1. Hey, Johnny Park
2. Alone + Easy Target
3. This Is A Call
4. Everlong
5. A New Way Home
6. I'll Stick Around
7. Walking After You
8. Big Me
9. Oh, George
10. Wind Up

"The Color and the Shape" is easily one of the best 10 albums of the 1990s in my mind. I'd recommend downloading the whole thing.

You'll get plenty of suggestions in this thread, but make sure you get these off their acoustic album Skin and Bones....they're great:

Darling Nikki. It's a tie for the rest.

Thanks for the recs--I'm culling recommendations from here and from my non-LM friends who are Foo fans.

The accoustic version of "Big Me" is incredible. The original was kind of a campy, goofy song (partly because of the video), but Grohl opened the encore in Dallas with this same accoustic version (duet, chick was playing a cello as she accompanied him) and it was amazing.

I'm probably going to have to get the rest of the album (I bought a few tracks) because iTunes doesn't include "Ain't it the Life" without the full album purchase, and I love that song.

ETA: At around the 2:30 mark of "Best of You" the crowd starts in with the "ahhhhhhh ah ahhhh" behind Grohl's guitar play. I love that.

I would have loved to attend one of those accoustic shows.
