Busby out. Raymond in. Terrible decision as Raymond is absolutely horrible.

Agreed.

Just simulcast Nadel and the other guy.

How can the Rangers acquire Ben Zobrist?

Andrew Cashner 1-yr, $10 million

Pretty roller coaster career (to be generous), but hopefully he can eat some innings if nothing else.

That is about all that guy is good for. I was hoping the Astros did not go after him. Still can't believe the Marlins gave up anything to get him at the deadline.

We don't have $16 MM for Beltran?

This off-season is failed.

Don't think I'd have given him $16MM, felt like he faded quite a bit down the stretch.

Eh, he was .309/.363/.873 in Sept/Oct, pretty much in line with the rest of the season.

I guess it depends on who they replace him with.

The Rangers can get him back for cheap after he massively underperforms and gets DFAed?

Gomez 1 year for $11MM. A little more than I'd have thought to get that done but okay with it. We have nothing for a CFer and I didn't want to pay what Desmond would have wanted. Hopefully he found himself here at the end of the year and that carries over.

Okay with the Gomez deal and Moreland leaving.

Everything I have read has thought it would take more (dollars and years) to get Gomez.

That is a good contract for May/June Desmond. Not so much the other 4 months.

Not to nitpick, but it was 5 and $70M....relevant because his agent fucked him out of FIFTY MILLION DOLLARS!!

Good luck with Gomez.....and yes, you can reference this and make me eat my words next year. #probablynot

Way too much money for Desmond. Interesting that we didn't keep Beltran given we lost some HR power through Moreland, Fielder and Desmond. Maybe Josh will be back this year. :)

Side note, I'm sure we've talked about this before, what the fuck is Jamie's avatar? The bird with the sword... WTF?
why don't you run back to the sandbox where the rest of the kids are playing so the adults can have a discussion...it's over there....you see Howie, he's over there with PMS knocking over other kids sandcastles...looks like fun.

I think the fact the Rangers offseason thread has veered off into a discussion of things going up someone's ass is a fantastic summation of the Rangers offseason.

I would love to hear a Seth review of this episode of South Park.
