Instead we've played Profar. Yes, a great utility man. But there is no better way to kill an inning than to send Profar to the plate. He'll drop a triple play on you if you aren't careful.

Uhhhh what? Mazara has been a lineup mainstay despite Choos return.....and you do realize he's been on pretty solid decline over the year much like Profar.

Hate it. Dude has sucked in Houston and strikes me as a cancer.

He's not a cancer. He was very well liked in the clubhouse. Altuve looked pretty disappointed when he was interviewed about it.

I think his injury from last year has just never really healed. He's also stubborn in his refusal to shorten his swing when he falls behind in the count. His two OF gaffes against the Twins were the final straw for Astros management.

I liked him, but it was time to go. No idea what JD sees in him. I think he's just trolling the Astros.

Change of scenery might do him well. It isn't like Deshields and Stubbs are great options.

Saw this stat today. Bizarre.

Rangers season run differential vs:

over .500 teams = +53
under .500 teams = -55

they are -32 vs Minnesota alone

Yeah the whole negative run differential but one of the best records in baseball is crazy.

What makes it even crazier is that we typically beat the good teams and lose (apparently badly) to the bad teams.

Okay I said it in '10...and again in '11...about this time of year.

The Rangers are going to the World Series.

Bring it.

Seriously don't go blow the farm on some rental. Injuries blew want could have been a great season, but dont overpay for something that isn't going to make a difference. Houston is going to win the division.

Indeed....still really glad we didnt mortgage the farm on Sale though. Hopefully that was Hamels and Darvish getting their wheels back on this weekend.

Both looked nasty. Good showing heading into the post-season.

The Gomez Rangers/Astros power numbers continue to be nutty..7 HR/21 RBI in 104 ABs vs. 5/29 in 295.

I agree with you (I think), but it would have been nice to have Sale last night.

Sigh.

You have to hope that Hamels/Darvish were just off going into the playoffs and they'll be better next time. But the Rangers have to get better at 3/4 in the rotation.

A long ways off until the first Monday of April.

I didn't see a single second of the entire series and I'm quite happy about that.

I think Yu will be better barring another injury. You almost always hear that it takes a year and half to be all the way back from TJ.

Hamels I don't know if he just ran out of gas or what.

Have to find a legitimate #3. Doesn't have to be a world beater just a steady hand.

I want no part of what the Desmond contract is going to cost. Choo is proof enough you don't overpay OFers over 30 that type of money. Add in that he completely slumped the second half and is shaky at best in the field and I'll pass.

I would however consider making an offer to Gomez as much as that makes me feel slimy to say. Move him to CF and play Sin Shoo Suckass in LF next year....we'll until Rua has to play 4/5ths of the season because Choo is hurt again anyway.

I'd like to see what Beltran has left, too.

I know he may be the greatest fielding 3rd baseman in history, but I'd entertain the idea of moving Belts to first if you think Profar is ready to make a big step to everyday player next year. I think it could extend Beltres career as well.

Beltre at 3rd and Profar at 1st probably makes more sense, at least for next year.
