Colonial

If anyone has access to free passes to the Colonial, the Craig's would greatly appreciate a hook up. We will be going Friday and Saturday with Robert and Amanda.
Thank you!

I'll let you know if I hear of any. You can usually get a grounds pass for like $20-$30 along Univeraity day of in a worst case scenario.

I'm thinking about going up there for that too either Saturday or Sunday but will be a game time decision. Will text you if we go, or if I hear someone giving away tickets.

Have never played there but have a couple of rounds scheduled mid-June. Oddly excited about that, spent a bunch of time watching golf there as a little kid. I kind of want to see the tournament right before as a reference and gameplan session !

The field sucks this year. Really disappointing. I love that tourney, but the field gets worse every year and I think this is Crowne Plazas last year as sponsor. Makes you wonder about the future of the tourney. It sucks they get dealt the shitty hand of being Memorial Day weekend every year. I'll be there Friday regardless and maybe a little bit Saturday.

Speith, Scott, Walker, Oosthuizen. Not terrible.

Looking forward to seeing Cory Gribble, too.

The Players and the Memorial fuck both of the DFW tourneys. Really disappointed that guys (yes, including Tiger) just stopped playing when Byron died and stopped writing notes.

After reading the comments above, the current field exceeded my expectations.

Last I heard Scott had not committed. Our VPs dad is on the committee and they were having to beg him back because he's the defending champion. Would be the first time I believe ever the previous champion didn't come back.

Good deal. Supposedly they reached out to Tiger with a pretty handsome bounty and he refused.

Seeing Jerry Kelly on there reminds me of one of my favorite tourney moments ever.

He's walking up to 17 tee and a volunteer is walking inside the ropes towards 16 green. Neither is really paying attention and looking off the other way. All of a sudden the slam into each other. Jerry Kelly screams out and I mean SCREAMS "god dammit!! What the fuck?!???" Naturally Flounder and I lost our shit laughing about it. Completely hilarious.

Matt and I once saw him graciously sign autographs for a bunch of little bastard kids until one of them finally asked for a tee or somesuch and he flat out told them no. Then as he was walking away he yelled at them that he would have given them either his visor or glove had they said please, and chided them (and their parents) for not having been taught manners.

Not to hijack this thread, but is anyone else going to the Byron next week?

Me and my merry band of idiots will be there by 1ish Friday. So far it's looking like Casey, BRheay, Ross, Lauren, Dave, Matt from Rowdy Gentleman, Jake, and Edgemon. That train will also be headed straight to Chimys 19th hole block party afterwards. Take your adderal early in the afternoon kids as drunken dancing at The Local is sure to commence at some point as well.
