They say that luck is what happens when preparation meets opportunity, and Justin was bigger than the moment, just like Michael Justin, Justin Shipley, and Montell Justin all were.

Same drill, British Open Pool.

There were a bunch of trades during the draft so it might look off balance. Rank the Teams:

A
1. Adam Scott
2. Dustin Johnson
15. Matt Kuchar
16. Phil Mickelson
17. Brandt Snedeker
18. Francesco Molinari

B
7. Louis Oosthuizen
8. Sergio Garcia
9. Justin Rose
11. Paul Casey
19. Martin Kaymer
24. Victor Dubuisson

C
3. Jordan Spieth
6. Jason Day
10. Bubba Watson
14. Tiger Woods
22. Jim Furyk
23. Zach Johnson

D
4. Henrik Stenson
5. Rickie Fowler
12. Hideki Matsuyama
13. Shane Lowry
20. Branden Grace
21. Jimmy Walker

Flip a coin between C and D for 1st and 2nd. Flip a coin between A and B for 3rd and 4th.

C A D B

Although B has sneaky depth. I could see any of them winning.

Wow, I hate C. Very high variance potential there.

I'm team B. I traded out of 2 spot because I liked Scott, Stenson, Fowler, Garcia, Oosthuizen and thought that was too early to pick Scott. Grabbed 7-10. Everything went perfectly wrong then later traded down to 11 specifically for Casey. I have three guys that share the course record at The Old Course.

I could have had the 1 pick. When he moved on it and took my guy Scott I couldn't believe it. With 7-10 I was going to be in market to trade up to 5,6 but anyway like I said it went bad.

Can't believe ya'll like team C. He doesn't even like his own team, hated every pick.

This deal makes every shot count and finishing last is worse than finishing first is good. Especially when I have an extra 500 riding on B vs C that cashes if either finishes 4th but my side is playing it at -125 because of the variance factor I mentioned above

Interesting tournament here I think.

Would play:

Adam Scott and Rickie Fowler at 17-1 and Sergio Garcia at 30-1

Looking at it again, I think here's my problem. Jason Day is my favorite professional golfer but he hasn't been right in awhile. Driver is very very loose. The strengths of his game are minimized there. I don't think it's a good spot for him and could see him missing cut.

I like C because you have the best player in the world right now (Spieth), a guy that hasn't done well at the British but plays well in majors (Day), a guy that bombs the ball and who has won two majors (Watson), a guy who has won twice here and might figure it out any minute (Woods), a guy with 14 T10s at majors, including 3 at the British (Furyk), and another who has two T10s the last three years at the British (Johnson).

I would have gone Team B, but most of y'all know more about the PGA pros than I do... which I have found means jack shit when doing these golf pools.

I'm one shot behind him with B but well clear of the other two.

*We cut one each day, and just added an extra before the final round. So I've cut Dubuisson, Casey, Kaymer... and added Padraig Harrington

Haha I can't believe I thought Jason Day could miss cut. Boy I can really analyze this shit, huh ?

In my defense, I actually thought there would be rough out there like they had in 2010. They're just playing freewheeling pitch-and-putt right now.

For perspective the O/U I got for players under par was 29.5. Currently there are 73. Despite the fact that they had the insane wind bit and that everyone over par thru 2 days MC'd so there is no backdoor to red numbers.

Quite stunning how easy that course is playing. Absolutely not championship caliber.

Am I looking at it right ?? The worst score in the field is +1 ???

Yeah, but insane wind is usually the factor in a British Open. They fucked the course up by making the greens extremely faster than normal and thinning out the rough. Two strikes against the course management folks.
