Clearly the team saw this thread title and was inspired to prove me (and every rational person) wrong this year, so you're welcome folks!

Great win even if it was ugly. This team has been a very pleasant surprise. It's leading to Barnes keeping his job, but whatever.

Good to pick one up against a ranked team. No games that look like a gimmie until TCU, so every win helps.

Kristina last night on Baylor: "I don't know why we're ranked. We haven't beaten anyone but TCU. We're the most overrated team in the history of ever." I hope they keep it up next Saturday because beer at George's always tastes even better after beating Baylor in something.

Wow. Really needed to get that one with the gauntlet they face on the road in the back half of the conference schedule. Another great win.

So refreshing! Dare we get exited about basketball again? I've taken a long break from keeping up with them.

I was worried that one was going to get away in the second half after Baylor managed to hang around in the first even though they were obviously way off of their game, but the Horns flat out ground them down in the second half.

Week off before KU. Not sure that is a good thing.

The Horns have broken into the top 25.

As far as Kansas goes, if UT is going to have a week off and show up rusty they might as well do it before a game they probably weren't going to be competitive in anyway.

Solid 40 minute performance. Watching Ridley's blocks are fun... all the more so because he has a workman-like approach to the game. This whole team is workman-like and fun to watch. No egos, just energy and steady confidence.

Agreed. A lot of fight and work in the team.

And I love watching how big they are. Ridley, Holmes, Ibeh... ridiculous.

I've only watched a couple of games at this point but I love those guys.
why don't you run back to the sandbox where the rest of the kids are playing so the adults can have a discussion...it's over there....you see Howie, he's over there with PMS knocking over other kids sandcastles...looks like fun.

Absolutely dominated Ok State (not surprising without Smart) and a WVU team that needs big wins for a tournament bid. Nice week. Got to 20 wins and can't finish worse than 9-9 in conference so I'd say a tournament bid should be a lock at this point.

Really tough week with trips to ISU and Kansas. Very much looking forward to seeing what kind of fight this team puts up in two hostile environments.

Liked how they competed tonight on a night where Ridley was awful and Holmes seemed invisible on offense, but the flaws were apparent tonight. This team is a 3 point sniper away from being a contender. We've seen how good they are on offense the last two games when Felix is hitting his threes, but counting on him when he's a 34 percent three point shooter isn't going to end well.

I'm also interested to see how Taylor adjusts to tonight. He had 26 and was absolutely the best player Texas had tonight, but Hoiberg did a good job scouting them and dared Taylor to shoot the long ball and he doesn't have that shot in his arsenal yet. I'm curious to see if teams continue to play that far off him as we move forward.

Ah well, on to Kansas.

I had it on in the background while I was doing other stuff/taking a post-run nap and didn't really pay close attention. Did I hear that Texas was 15-16 from the line at one point? It would be nice if they could be closer to that than being 70% from the stripe.

That sounds right, they finished 23-25 for the game. It's funny how that stuff works though. They have their best free throw shooting game in ages but the first one they missed was part of a big sequence. Holmes missed the front end of a 1-and-1 down 7 with 6:30ish left, ISU gets fouled, hits the first, misses the second but gets a tip in off the missed free throw. Texas went from a potential 5 point deficit to down 10. That was the kind of night it was. Ridley played his worst game of the year and there were certainly plenty of missed opportunities across the board. Can't have that on the road and hope to win against a good team.

I watched the first half and they looked like shit.

Typical Barnes "offense" in the fact that they could not generate good looks at all.

Completely different team than I saw against Baylor a couple of weeks ago.

Still love our size because of the rebounding and blocked shots but really wish we could utilize it to put points on the board.
