Lots of Maya Angelou scholars on Facebook today who I am guessing have never read anything by her.

Is that akin to the people that bemoan the death of Austin every time a so-so place closes down?

Oprah was a huge fan of her, that guarantees millions of women read or were at least familiar with her.

Never heard of her until today. I read an article on drudge. You would have thought a US president died with all the accolades given to her. RIP

This does not surprise me at all. While I think the hoopla is overblown, I think it's impossible for me to quantify her affect on society not having been alive during her heyday.

Have to be honest spicy can be confusing when describing food. To me, spicy is very/extremely flavorful food meaning lots of spices. People that I eat with tend to call food that is really hot, spicy.

If a food it hot tasting (not temperature wise), I refer to it as hot. A food can be spicy without being hot. A food can be hot without being spicy IMO.

I guess we can both be right or we can both be wrong.

Blackened chicken is a spicy food, but it is not hot.

I don't know the spicy rule.

Someone will tell me their food is too spicy. I'll take a bite, and say no it's just hot.

Please enlighten me.

Have to be honest, when I heard the Rangers were setting up a fund for Richard Durrett's family, my first thought was, "WTF, did he not have life insurance?"

Have to be honest. Oblamaa will still be president in 2016 after he declares martial law or congress abolishes presidential term limits. Martial law is more likely

To clarify, I meant that he will be president in 2017 after the 2016 election if there is an election.

Do you seriously believe this or are you just doing a bit? We've already been over this. The wacky far left was saying that Bush was going to use H1N1 to declare martial law, cancel elections forever and be dictator for life. Same nonsense now only the sides are flipped.

Yeah, only a month till we're inundated with pink everything and "save the tatas" for the umpteenth year in a row, regarding the most popular charitable cause after AIDS. You ALS Scrooges are more irritating than the ice bucket videos. God forbid a trend do some actual good.

Jesus. Why some of you get so upset at the most innocuous things. Two months ago it was soccer, now a charity that has increased its donations something like 900X from a year ago. Please tell us what you think is worthwhile so we can piss all over it at every opportunity, as if any of us are the arbiter of what is and is not okay. Get the fuck over it.
