Yeah, I hit the bar last night after the game and was recapping how the next few days were going to work out for me.


1. Texas loses to Tech and probably blows a shot at the NC.

2. The Cowboys are going to get destroyed by the Giants.

3. Obama is going to be elected President on Tuesday and "lead" us into a terrible 2-3 years for America.

I'm willing to bet that my income will have increased, I'll be at the same job and starting year 9 with the company, have the same group of friends, could very well be married(he who repeats that around girlfriend at next tailgate gets swift kick to the balls) will be in a new house and STILL, will not be falling into urine infested creeks 3 years in to an Obama Presidency.

Considering your current situation Seth, I'll also make a wager that your life will be far from "terrible" professionally in 3 years.

Bill Clinton was a scumbag that I'm pretty sure most everyone on this site couldn't stand when he was getting blowjobs in the White House, but I ain't gonna' lie, life was GOOD from '96-'00......some might say great, but not so much with everyone's boy in office the last 8 years.

What I'm basically saying is it's very easy to overvalue the effect of a President on your daily life. Me personally, I couldn't give two shits once the election is over, and I'm not even sure how much I care now.

So unless Obama is going to somehow prevent our secondary from catching certain interceptions in the closing moments of UT football games, I'm not gonna' lose any sleep when Obama wins......which he will.

Yeah, and my life isn't going to change too much over a Texas loss either. Other than having to adjust my plans around the new year.

There is no doubt that my life will be better in 3 years.

And you're right, the policies that Obama and the democratic congress are going to make will not have an immediate affect on my quality of life.

But you have to admit that those decisions do have a long term effect on the direction of the country in general. Not recognizing that is taking the "why vote? It doesn't really matter anyway" approach.

And I don't think you believe that.


I do feel that us moving further towards a socialist state through programs that we don't need and can't afford is going to be the reason that we lose our status of the last world super power in about 5 years.

No impact on my life but bigger implications further down the road.
