Well, certainly a banner year for U2 Horn regardless of what happens from here on out.

Liking what I am hearing off of this one. I hope they do a show in Dallas outside of the County Fair thing because that lineup really doesn't do much for me.

Ha. I think RTJ are very average. I know you and Dan disagree.

I think he was referring to the U2 Joshua Tree 2017 tour

Correct.

Either of you listen to the stuff from the new Father John Misty that has shown up on Spotify? I think it all sucks. Fear Fun might wind up being my favorite album of the decade when all is said and done but he's going downhill fast.

Yeah I've given them quick listens but I was not impressed. Seems like outtakes from Honeybear or somesuch

I have never been a fan of FJM. Maybe it is his voice, but listening to him sing makes me want to hurt people.

why don't you run back to the sandbox where the rest of the kids are playing so the adults can have a discussion...it's over there....you see Howie, he's over there with PMS knocking over other kids sandcastles...looks like fun.

I think your 2-5 could be in any given order for me depending on the day. They all seem to have a handful of great songs, a lot of okay-to-good songs, and a few stinkers.

This new album is fine. I'm enjoying it for the most part. But like the last few albums I can't help but think that almost every song is just a variation of something they've done before. After so many albums I'm sure that it is difficult to be completely original, but it makes it hard for me to really fall in love with the new stuff (see also: Fighters, Foo).

I know I said "never again" on ACL but this year's lineup looks like a good time.

K and I were planning to buy day passes to at least see Ice Cube, but the addition of Jay-Z puts us over the edge. I said after 2014 I wasn't doing the three-day pass again, but here we go...

I got 99 problems.....and a majority of them are in that lineup. That being said, I trust y'alls taste in music, so are there some bands further down that I should go see....'caus those first few lines are a bag of dicks.

ACL acts I am legit interested in:
Jay-Z (seen him three times; always puts on a badass show)
    The Killers (never seen them)
Gorillaz (never seen them; curious how a "virtual band" plays a festival)
Ice Cube (hever seen him, and it's fucking Ice Cube)
The Head and the Heart (maybe my favorite band of the past few years)
First Aid Kit (two Swedish chicks that play folk music; loved their first album)
Car Seat Headrest (was not as wild about their debut last year as others, but it grew on me)
Hamilton Leithauser (assuming he'll play some stuff from The Walkmen, who I liked okay; his album with Rostan last year was one of the best of the year, but not sure how he'll handle being solo here)
Whitney (probably my favorite album last year)
The Lemon Twigs (had a hard time getting into their album last year, but my buddy Porter said they put on a great live show)

There are others on there that I wouldn't mind checking out... some play the festival pretty often (Ryan Adams, Spoon, Portugal. The Man)... some have songs or albums I've given cursory attention at some point the past few years (The XX, Glass Animals, Run the Jewels, Chance the Rapper)... and some that I have never listened to but aware of because I see a lot of people rave about them (Tove Lo, Eagles of Death Metal). Plus it seems like every time I have been I have discovered something new that I really liked.

There are a few acts that I have zero interest in, but overall I like the lineup.

Coincidentally... on today's FB memories I mentioned being bummed on 5/10/13 that I missed the Killers at CPC. Your response from then was: "Saw them play at vmworld in Vegas. Thought the show was just kind of ok." Ha.

Between the ALDS and the Texas-K State game I'm kind of dreading ACL. I'd rather be at a bar on Friday and Sunday, and tailgating on Saturday.

I'm not going this year.

I will be at Stubb's tomorrow night for Run the Jewels though.

My favorite news item of yesterday is that RTJ is opening for Lorde next year in North America
