ACL 2015

Postby 12ozLongneck on Wed Jul 29, 2015 10:02 am

Anybody going this year? I am thinking about picking up a one day pass for Friday weekend 1 for:

--Foo Fighters
--Run The Jewels
--BIlly Idol
--Royal Blood
--Albert Hammond Jr.
--Asleep At the Wheel
--Talk In Tounges

Saturday and Sunday are pretty weak.

Schedules are out. Talk in Tongues play at 11:30am on Friday. Fuck that. It's the same slot that Temples played in last year, and I don't want to listen to pysch rock when I am completely sober.

There's a pretty easy solution to that.

Highlights for me:

1. Father John Misty
2. Royal Blood
3. RTJ

Dan, did you have to camp out all day to get up front for FJM?

This one might be it for me. I'm too old for this shit. I am fucking exhausted and I have a blister the size of a golf ball on my left heel.

I'm older than you by a good bit and I'm still at it :-D

Yeah I got to the Honda Stage pretty much when it opened and camped out. Then I made my way over to the Miller Lite stage and ended up on the front row for TV on the Radio, who killed it as well.

For me so far:

Father John Misty
(Tie) Run the Jewels
TV on the Radio
Foo Fighters

Are the highlights. Hadn't see Foo before so that checks them off my list.

There was TV on the Radio, and then there was everyone else. I also saw them at Emo's the first Friday and then the next night at ACL.....those guys are so good. Good call on Royal Blood....that was actually the first band I saw on that Friday before going over to watch Billy Idol forget the words to Rebel Yell......twice......true story. I admittedly didn't know much, or anything about Royal Blood, but they were great. I also got talked into/coerced/dragged to The Weekend instead of The Strokes, so I voluntarily removed one of my nuts on the walk over, but I'm man enough to admit that not only did I not absolutely hate it......ehhhhhh, it was actually pretty good. ](*,)
