Kevin and I went to Weezer last night. Great show and great new album. We were discussing our favorites of the year and both of us have it at or near the top.

Unloaded those Ryan Adams tickets. He has some loyal ass fans as the prices for those tickets were outrageous.

An interview with Will Johnson about Centromatic embarking on their final tour:

http://www.glidemagazine.com/127686/cen ... interview/

This is mainly interesting because of his response to a question about some of his planned collaborations in the near future:

I've got a friend in Alabama that I've really been wanting to make a release with so I’d like to get over there within the next 12 or 18 months and put a record together with him.

I found this link and stream last night looking for the song played at the end of SOA. They have their own in house band who writes songs for the sound track. I'm going to buy the volume 1-4 as there has been good music on the show.

That's cool. I spent 9,927 minutes on Spotify. Doesn't really sound like that much. Weezer was my#1 album, which seems about right.

My seasonal favorite for Spring was Belle and Sebastian. I literally spent one day at work playing Belle and Sebastian's entire discography (well, not quite, but about 4-5 hours worth). I could have sworn I listened to the Temples album a dozen times during the Spring. Not sure how they calculate these lists.

While LCD Soundsystem, Puscifer, Phantogram and Foo Fighters didn't surprise me......The National did.

Metropopolis incorporates elements of chill wave, indietronica, and synth pop. It has a tendency towards crisp and melodic electronic compositions featuring prominent vocal hooks.

Sounds about right.

interesting

http://www.salon.com/2014/12/04/stop_tr ... cal_genre/

Oh, you haven’t heard of metropopolis? That’s because it didn’t exist until now. “A sophisticated, indie-leaning, and undeniably catchy cousin of mainstream pop,” Spotify calls it. “Metropopolis was everywhere in 2014, thanks to artists like Charli XCX, Bleachers and St. Vincent.”

St Vincent and Bleachers are 2 of my favorites right now

Metropopolitans like pop music, but also sort of wish they didn’t like it quite so much, so they qualify those pleasures as guilty. They know all the words to “Bang Bang” but are kind of embarrassed to admit it. (Don’t be!) To be a metropopolis fan — not that anyone knew they were before this week — is to say meh to Taylor Swift, but sure! to Ellie Goulding. It is the anti-Katy Perry pop subgenre, as if that is a reasonable burden to place on fans of “undeniably-catchy” pop in the first place.

Ok, after seeing numerous mentions on here and numerous inclusions in lots of Top 10 lists, I went ahead and dialed up St Vincent on Spotify. I do not get it. Absolute garbage.
