Trailer for Wes Anderson's new movie. I'm sure Makaveli can't wait:

I've had some friends (all female, I should admit) talk up the books, and after seeing some still shots from the movie (Jennifer Lawrence... I'm a fan) I started browsing through the first few pages on Sunday evening. Around 1:45am I finished it, and on Monday I started the second one. I hope to finish the third tonight. They're enjoyable, for the most part, and very quick reads.

Took me 3 seconds to recognize it as a Wes Anderson film. I'm sure it's total garbage like the rest. Pass.

I plan to read The Hunger Games series.

Right now I'm reading Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. I'm only about 1/4 way through it. It is one really interesting read. Really enjoying is so far.

Saw "Act of Valor".

The critics have it 29% on the Tomatometer. My wife watched it with me and she agreed with the experts. She wanted to leave early and wouldn't elaborate any further than saying it was "Horrible".

I am baffled. I personally don't understand what in the world they could be thinking. This is far superior to "Hurt Locker" which everyone seemed to love. The critical reaction to this movie is more surprising IMO than the reaction to "The Passion of the Christ".

You've never seen a film like this before. You just haven't. Not only was it good, but it ventures into "Important" and right on the edge of "must watch" territory. Depending on your perspective it probably hits 6-10 different themes, and "Act of Valor" would have to be considered a historically definitive film on each of those themes. It delivers an impact all the way through the final credits, and can physically knock the breath out of you.

Probably the best movie I've ever rated 8/10.

The amateur acting by the real navy seals made the movie feel real to me. That was one of my favorite parts about it.

I loved the movie.

I am automatically prejudiced against The Hunger Games because the same broads at work that are all into the whole Twilight thing are also into this. Also, if Peabody is interested in it, I'm assuming that it's aimed at teenage girls.

Looking to trade-in for something a little younger?? You should have plenty of options with all of the teenage girls in the theatre...

I thought you and Christina were happy?
why don't you run back to the sandbox where the rest of the kids are playing so the adults can have a discussion...it's over there....you see Howie, he's over there with PMS knocking over other kids sandcastles...looks like fun.

Saw Hunger Games last night with kids. Probably get hammered for this but...meh. Maybe if I had read the books and had a background as to a more in-depth of the haves vs. the have nots. As I watched it though, I couldn't help to think I had seen something like this before; wasn't Running Man similar? If I remember, it was a death match between men, watched on TV and celebrated wildly by the masses with an eccentric TV host...Richard Dawson if I'm not mistaken. I know it's just a movie but, futuristic man vs. man hunting and killing will be great, on the edge of your seat, gotta watch TV? Still a stretch in my mind, even for story telling. Especially kids killing kids. But I digress. Anyway,

Saw Moonrise Kingdom. Liked it, but not as much as Bottle Rocket/Rushmore/Royal Tennenbaums.
