Finished Season 2 of Narcos last night. Loved it. Knowing they had greenlighted a season 3 I was completely shocked with the ending of 2. Pretty excited for the return.

Liz has forced me to watch This Is Us with her.....not that bad actually. It's generic network TV so I'm sure it'll be cancelled anyday now.

I doubt it gets cancelled after one season... this seems to fill the void of shows like Friday Night Lights and Parenthood. I think the "twists" have been pretty interesting thus far.

Yeah I was just joking....seems like every time I find a regular network show that I somewhat enjoy it gets canned pretty quick.

Anybody else watching Westworld? It's good, but I feel like the ratio of the amount of thought it is requiring to keep up with to the amount of enjoyment I am getting out of it is starting to get a bit out of whack. I'm interested to see how they wrap this season up, but my enthusiasm is waning and I have zero idea how or why the show will bother going on if what I think is going to happen happens next week.

I bailed after two episodes. Maybe I'll pick it back up sometime when I feel like I have motivation to really pay attention

Just watched episode 1 of The OA on Netflix without knowing anything about it other than hearing the title kicked around and the fact Netflix didn't really make a big show about the fact it was coming out today. It's probably in the top 20 of satisfying hours of TV that I have ever watched.

I think I said something way upthread regarding The Leftovers about how if a show is going to introduce some huge mystery it either has to (1) explain the mystery or (2) make you give a rat's ass about the characters. After 1 episode, the acting/writing is so good that I really don't care where the show goes as long as the acting/writing stays as good. Kind of a Lost-ish vibe to it and I think even the people here who aren't into sci fi/fantasy stuff might like it. Check it out.

Finished The OA last night. The first couple of episodes are great and then after about halfway through they put up a roadblock that made it completely impossible for me to take the show seriously.

Actually finished The OA this morning. I'm not sure what I think....at all....feel like I might need to noodle on it for a bit.

Yeah... That's kind of where I am. I loved the fact that it was so deliberately paced, I thought the characters were interesting and I found the stuff they left us hanging on interesting enough to merit season 2 but that one aspect of the show I'm talking about is so cringe inducing that I could barely stick with it.

Exactly....not sure what I think about the ending and where it's at in general, but the characters and writing and uniqueness of it all is enough that I'm most definitely watching Season 2....if there is one, but I still need to process Season 1.

I'm trying to figure out what part you're talking about....I feel like it should be obvious, but that would obviously be a horrible spoiler, so don't.

Man in the High Castle S2 was intense. I wasn't sure where they would go with it this season because what little of it that actually followed the book wrapped up by the end of S1. After a few eps I thought about bailing but glad I did not. The final few eps were some of the best TV I have seen in the past few years.

Anybody in on Taboo or The Young Pope? I started watching e1 of Taboo a bit too late last night and passed out about 30 minutes in, but what I saw was good.

I missed Taboo. Is it OD?

I started The Young Pope. Even though I think Jude Law is awful in almost everything it seemed interesting enough to stick with it for a while.

Watched season 1 over the holidays. Liked it for the most part, but was on the fence about whether to watch s.2 since the last few episodes of s.1 were becoming somewhat repetitive in terms of the same dangers and dilemmas created by and dealt with by the main characters. Noticed your post (above) on this and have decided to go ahead and watch s.2.

Enjoying Taboo.
Need to get caught up on Man in the High Castle
Finished Narcos - cool that it is getting a 3rd season.
Watched The OA...like others, IDK what to think. I could probably never watch again and be OK with that.

Running behind on Taboo. Just watched episode 2. Liking it so far.

Bill Burr's new special on Netflix is pretty disappointing.
