This is a new site. Sort of a blog then, but not. It basically lets you find all your friends online and the people that you see walking by every day that you wouldn't normally say hello to. It's weird, pretty fun, but goddamn if they can ever get some more fucking server space.

So it's just for college students?

I don't know Drew.

Now officially I am out of college. I think the facebook only requires you to have an email address that is part of the UT database. You could be, I suppose, an 8th year alumni but if you have a .utexas.edu email you can be part of thefacebook.

It let me sign up in 04 or 05 with my alumni account. I've only been active for a few months.

This new look is awful.

The weird thing is my wife doesn't see any new layout/features when she's logged in. Do they always roll out new stuff gradually?

More importantly (and not to digress too much), but whatever happened to RiversideHorn? Since I don't think anyone knew him personally, we may not get an answer, but it would be nice to know how Sub-Nuke school worked out (if I remember, correctly--which actually isn't very likely)........

The worst part about the new layout isn't the layout itself but the volume of whining crying titty babies it has incited.

I don't really see the big deal. I seem to have found all my old things I used to look at.

Yeah in fact I find it quite cool that pages you subscribe to now stick events into your feed where they didn't in the past.

If you hover your mouse over the entry, a "Hide" button should pop up on the right. Click on that and it will hide that person's updates from your view or that application's notifications.

Sylvia and I went to a movie theater for the first time since Pilar was born (Aug. 2008... I know. Sad.) and saw The Social Network.

Kinda tripped out that TheFacebook.com was being discussed on here less than a year after Zuckerberg started putting it together.

Fucking loved the movie. Cool rowing scenes too! :)
