Almost February.

Flew down to Houston today to interview for my Global Entry card to get pre TSA line and easy and fast customs entry back into the states.

Are you leaving the US and A often enough that you feel it is necessary to do this? How many heroin balloons can you fit inside yourself on each trip?

I thought Hulk Hoganing the Great Wall was a one-time thing. Didn't realize that Peabody was jet-setting, bringing 'Murica to all corners of the globe.

I did this, too; but did it in Austin since there is a customs offcie here.
for $200 you get to move to the front of the line even for domestic (in airports that have that option).
if you have amex plat, they pick up the fee for you.
so basically that cuts the membership fee in about half; worth if you travel a lot.

the China thing is an ongoing deal. I've been there 5 times now. I''m traveling to Argentina and Chile in March. I've never been to either place or even South America for that matter.

anyway, even for domestic travel the Global Entry thing is cool, you get to skip the long security lines. You don't have to take off your shoes or unload your lap top either.

Love now has a TSA guy with and iPad clicking it and every so often it randomly upgrades somebody to precehck. I got the upgrade today. It was awesome. Think I may sign up for it now. Only 4 people in front of me. No shoe, belt, or laptop removal. Through security in 5 minutes during rush hour.

Speaking of Love. Today was the first time I've been in there since they completed the renovations and WOW! It's every bit as nice as terminal D at DFW now. They've done one hell of a job making over the place.

This will be awesome until everyone signs up for it and it becomes no different than the people who haven't been pre-screened.

Agreed. I ate at the Stephen Pyles restaurant the other day and it was amazing... at an airport. The turnaround for that airport is quite impressive. Wright amendment going away in the fall allowing non-stop across the country from DAL.... "international" opening up to the Caribbean in the summer... finally I can take my business to places other than AA.

I have the global entry card. Eh... I already had pre-check for the amount of flying that I do. Haven't used it for international yet so we'll see in a couple of months. I'm sure that will be nice.

By the way, you can swing over to DFW for the interview. That's a lot closer than Houston from OKC.
why don't you run back to the sandbox where the rest of the kids are playing so the adults can have a discussion...it's over there....you see Howie, he's over there with PMS knocking over other kids sandcastles...looks like fun.

agreed

I signed up a couple of days after Christmas. The earliest available DFW interview wasn't until April. I leave to Argentina & Chile on March 6th. I did not have a choice except for Houston.
