I think that HM means a ton of people from various sites (Shaggy, Orangebloods, Hornfans previously) have taken shots at Wheeler over the infamous bus trip and other supposed transgressions. And of course "Wheelernik" was the trendy thing to call someone on LMFZ that wasn't trying to tear him apart. Hence, you can call us Wheelerniks for not always going after the guy considering the good he has done (and continues to do).

I think he is definitely a different cat, one that has gone through various incarnations (or lives as it may be), but I think he has always meant well and honestly tried to rectify the one situation that got out of hand on him. The internet being the internet, is of course generally not so analytical or kind.

PS, props for working "slap dicks" into a reference--imho, it's the best (and still somewhat politically correct) way of referring to someone as an idiot.

I know little about the past transgressions. That was my first time to meet most around here (Marie, Simon, etc) at the 2004 game. As far as I'm concerned the guy is gold. I can't even begin to tell how great the guy was this weekend. Also, he's coming back up here tomorrow for another few days of manual labor. Until you were knee deep in debris and insulation with him, you have no idea how he affected the families we helped out.

With a record of 109-23 and 6 Big 12 titles in 10 seasons, Stoops has reason to be arrogant. But he is not. He is somewhere between humble and unimpressed.

That's the thing... it's not the first (nor will it be the last) time that he jumps in to do something like that. I would suspect that most who still chuckle when mentioning the "bus incident" haven't done jack shit to help others in need. Beyond merely paying people back (which he said he did) the guy has made more of an effort to make the world a better place than most, and he's more than made up for that one thing, though I'm not sure he didn't "pre-pay" for it long before it happened.

Yeah,

We went to my BIL's castle house last night. He has a safe room. He lives just down the road about an 1/8th of a mile from me. . The tornado got his roof really good.

This one missed me by about that 1/8th mile. Did some damage to my neighborhood, but my house is fine. Still no power since yesterday around 7pm or so. I've got my. Generator powering my two fridges. Candles are lit. The Weather is nice and cool right now. i've got a few windows open, so the temp is very comfortable. I'm fixing to read a Mitch Rapp book on my iPad.

Those tornadoes were all over the fucking place last night. Crazy

Cut OG&E a break. It's hard to restore power to the 10,000 sq feet mansions.

Friday's tornado was 2.6 miles wide with winds that measured 300 mph. My brain can't comprehend this.

What the hell do you do if you're stuck in traffic on the highway and that's coming towards you? Terrifying.

You say your prayers and kiss your ass good bye.

My wife is making me get a storm shelter. She's mad that I bought a nice huge safe to protect all my guns, yet the rest of the family is unprotected. I can't argue with that. I ordered one to be installed soon. In the meantime, I could fit my youngest daughter in the safe easily.

Interesting. My wife and I were talking about this a few months ago when this went down.

Considering that houses around here don't have basements, what would having a storm shelter installed cost?

I'd be interested to hear what you are finding. Wide ranges would suffice.... I'm not asking what you are paying.

Also, do they get built into the ground? Or, I think she was reading that you can get some that are like a gun safe that is for people and anchored to the slab of the house?
why don't you run back to the sandbox where the rest of the kids are playing so the adults can have a discussion...it's over there....you see Howie, he's over there with PMS knocking over other kids sandcastles...looks like fun.

I'm getting an outdoor cement storm shelter. It's sunken into the ground of course. I don't like the ones they dig into the slab of you garage and install.

The price for mine is just $2700.00. That doesn't seem like a bad price. Mine is supposed to be installed March 19th. That's because of the backlog they have. Tornado season doesn't start until April.
