Re: I must say.....

I look at this season as a few bars I'd like us to clear: Bar 1: Beat Kansas. For the love of all that is holy. Beat Kansas' ass. Bar 2: Don't fuck up the coin flip against USC. Or anyone else. Bar 3. Don't get three kicks blocked by Ok State. Or anyone else. Bar 4: Don't let a noodle-armed QB throw...

Re: Another admission

My ass sweats too much to go commando, but I am all about dry fit shorts. I bought a pair of Callaway a few months ago at Last Call but opted just for one because they were $50. Nordstrom Rack had the same pair in blue a week ago for $30, but they had two 40s and two 34s.

Got ya. Thought maybe he had a health thing. Good for him for realizing it had gone too far. That's why I quit the brown stuff a couple years back. I'll have like one bourbon or scotch but it's gotta be at home and a special occasion. So not from a plastic traveler at 11:45 am after OU takes a thre...

Re: Have to be honest...

Nirvana did not get poshtumously famous after Cobain killed himself. Nevermind started their fame in 1991 (as well as ushering in the grunge era) and In Utero was released eight months before Cobain killed himself. It sold 180K copies its first week and was immediately a #1 Billboard hit. The only N...

Re: Have to be honest...

...I could not even name a Linkin Park song.

I didn't realize they were as popular as they apparently were, given the outpouring of love for the guy that committed suicide.

Not making light, in any way, but really had no idea. I always thought they were another Limp Bizkit kind of band.

2017 Tailgate Talk

FYI, for those not on Facebook... or on Facebook but actively avoid Facebook (cannot blame you, for the most part). The tailgate has relocated to Lot 12B (see this linked map : spaces 110-115). We lose some space, but we're downgrading to pop-up tents so it should be much more convenient to set up a...

Re: Car problem, what would you do?

I'm so ignorant about cars - and thus, nervous about any minor problem - that it might outweigh my general laziness/hesitance to act.

Re: Golf talk

I played Hancock yesterday... first outing since last May. Hit the ball week on the first two holes but could not putt on the patchy, muddy greens. Then my fucking shoe literally fell apart. I had to change into my flip flops and hit barefoot after that. Brutal.

Re: This week's sign of the Apocalypse.....

I see this commercial a lot lately and maybe it's just because so many others are so much worse to me that I don't hate it (I think they show the same 5 commercials every half-inning during the Astros games, for example, and I despise them all). I actually laugh every time the nerdy looking guy spaz...

Re: 2017 Music

Coincidentally... on today's FB memories I mentioned being bummed on 5/10/13 that I missed the Killers at CPC. Your response from then was: "Saw them play at vmworld in Vegas. Thought the show was just kind of ok." Ha.

Re: 2017 Music

ACL acts I am legit interested in: Jay-Z (seen him three times; always puts on a badass show) The Killers (never seen them) Gorillaz (never seen them; curious how a "virtual band" plays a festival) Ice Cube (hever seen him, and it's fucking Ice Cube) The Head and the Heart (maybe my favori...

Re: Current TV Programming

I would call it "entertaining" more than "really good." But watchable, for sure. I am a few weeks behind, though, because it's lower down my priority list than the other shows I mentioned.

Re: Current TV Programming

Good stretch of TV right now: American Gods, The Leftovers, and Silicon Valley on Sunday night, Better Call Saul on Monday, and The Americans on Tuesday, and I think I am going to add Fargo on Wednesday. Eventually I will do the Hulu trial and go back to S1 and S2. Also want to catch The Handmaidens...

Re: Suits

FWIW I recommend Last Call. You can get what I think is a better quality suit than you'd find at Macy's/Dillard's for anywhere from $300-$500.

Re: Suits

I bought a new one last year, mainly because the dry cleaner ruined my blue suit and the black suit I bought for my wedding feels a little formal for things like client meetings and/or (hopefully sooner than later) job interviews. I wear it a couple of times a year, tops. I suppose I do still own an...
